Rainbows Create Perfect Colors for U.S. Para-Cyclists At Road World Championships

Bosco, a two-time medalist in the Paralympic Games Rio 2016, dominated the time trial and road race C4 to complete a perfect season in which she won both races in all three world cup stops.

“No pun intended, but it’s the rainbow after the storm for me,” said Bosco, who has recovered from a head injury sustained in a bike crash last year that kept her out of the Tokyo Games. “It’s a really sweet and surreal moment for me.”

Bosco Secures Double Rainbow as Team USA Picks up Four More Medals on Road Race Finale

Paralympian Sam Bosco (Claremont, California) repeated her perfect performance from the time trial win dominating the women’s C4 road race at the final day of the road world championships to collect her second rainbow jersey of the week. Bosco led the entire six lap course from the start clocking in nearly three and a half minutes earlier than the silver medalist. Bosco’s win brings her career world championship medal tally to 12 with her double wins in Canada being her first world titles on the road.

What Can Kids Learn from the Mindset of Paralympic Champions?

We were likewise thrilled to meet Sam Bosco, a bronze medal-winning Paralympic cyclist. Sam began biking as a child, riding to school with her dad. “I loved how I felt when I conquered a trail, especially if it was a harder trail, because I could take on anything that I put my mind to.” In middle school, she underwent multiple corrective bone surgeries that required long and difficult recoveries, but did not suppress her spirit. She credits her parents with “reminding me and instilling in me that just because I have a disability does not mean I’m incapable of something.”
